But the fear and hate mongering following the Harvey Weinstein story drove many Erotic Samaritans into the closet. And pushed Erotic Karens out.
For example, in November of 2017 The New York Times, published a story about the comedian Louis C. K's. “sexual misconduct.” These same reporters wrote the story about Weinstein.
If it wasn't for these dedicated investigative reporters these “victims” would have never “come forward.” In #metoo speak “to come forward” with sexual accusations means they were relentlessly tracked down. But, at the peak of the movement, many seeking attention or sensing an opportunity would come out more willingly.
Cara Buckley, one of the three reporters who worked on this story was featured in a Vice newsletter entitled "The Journalists Behind the Louis C.K. Report on Holding Powerful Men Accountable."
In the interview, Buckley describes the hard work she put into the C.K. story. "It was an intense several weeks that involved a ton of gumshoe reporting - knocking on doors, making cold calls by the dozens, slipping notes under security gates in Beverly Hills, dropping in on comedy clubs."
In The New York Times story, Abby Schachner describes a phone call that took place in 2003 to Louis CK. While she was talking to him, she could hear him masturbating. “I definitely wasn't encouraging it.” Then the reporter, speaking for the “victim” adds, “but she didn't know how to end it, either.”
Comedian Dave Chappelle mocks Schachner and in a hilarious bit that states the obvious, “Hang up the phone, bitch!” and Chappelle questions the motive, “Ladies what is your agenda?” He points out there are much more pressing concerns for women than destroying “this nigga's career.” Like abortion: In 2017, 19 states had added 63 new restrictions on abortion.
Comedians Dana Min Goodman and Julia Wolvo told the Times that in 2002 Louis C.K. had masturbated in front of them. When C.K., who they greatly admired, invited them to his hotel room, they were thrilled. As soon as the pair sat down C.K. asked if he could “take out his penis.” The women thought he was joking and laughed. When C.K. took off his clothes and masturbated, they were “paralyzed.”
Another woman, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said that when she was in her early 20s and working on the The Chris Show. C. K. asked her if he could masturbate in front of her. Finding her scopophilia and as an Erotic Samaritan went along with it.
“Whip it out and show it hard.” Queen Carlotta, Desperate Living
Now in 2017 as a middle aged woman, she tells the reporters why she said okay to C.K. It “. . . was because of the culture. He abused his power.”
C. K. of course was canceled by “everyone” as Vice put it, just hours after he issued an apology: He never took out his dick without asking first: at the time he thought it was okay. But now he understands “that when you have power over another person, asking them to look at your dick isn't a question; it's a predicament for them.”
“Aim it the other way.” Donna Dasher, Female Touble
Vice seemingly has a sloppy editor. Dana Min Goodman and Julia Wolvo did say that C.K. asked first before taking out his dick. But they apparently couldn't respond, for they were “paralyzed.”
“I'm stuck in K-hole and I can't get out!” Lyle - Cecil B. Demented
But Vice says that C.K. masturbated in front of the pair “without consent.” Vice also misquotes Abby Schneider (sic) (and misspells her name) “who told the paper that in 2003 she was on the phone with C.K. and could hear him masturbating without her consent.” Because “consent” is another required #metoo talking point, maybe this slipped by the editor.
“Put your vagina up to the phone.” Pervert on Phone - A Dirty Shame.
Schachner, could have expanded her erotic repertoire by engaging with C.K. Instead, 14 years after the fact, she reports to The New York Times that she heard C.K. masturbating. Is she an Erotic Karen?
Thank you !!!
